Rapper Jay-Z can be heard laughing as he raps about singer Miley Cyrus' 'twerking' skills in the track 'Somewhereinamerica' from his latest album 'Magna Carta Holy Grail.'
Seems like we're not the only ones to be confused by Miley Cyrus' constant 'Twerking.' You know, the thing she does where her hips and bum jiggles to the music and features heavily in her latest 'We Can't Stop' music vid. It may be a tricky move to master but Miley is proud of showing off her booty-wiggling skills at every possible opportunity. Speaking on air to Ryan Seacrest in March, she enthused about her now-signature move and revealed "I can't believe how many people think I'm good at twerking-which is dope-like my life goal has been accomplished," as reported by The Daily Mail, adding "It's something that comes naturally...It's a lot of booty action." The 20 year-old former Disney darling has now even formed a hashtag for the move: '#MCTwerkTeam' (Miley Cyrus Twerk Team).
Jay-Z Has Called Miley Cyrus Out In His Track 'Somewhereinamerica.'
Now, rapper Jay-Z has caught on to the latest craze but instead of jumping on the bandwagon and joining the booty-shaking masses, he instead mocks Cyrus in his latest song, and implies that such a craze could happen "only in America," as he raps on 'Somewhereinamerica,' "When I was talking Instagram/ Last thing you wanted was your picture snapped/ Feds still lurking/ They see I'm still putting work in/ Cause somewhere in America/ Miley Cyrus is still twerkin', Ha!/Twerk, twerk, twerk, twerk/ Twerk, Miley, Miley, twerk/ Twerk, Twerk, Miley, Miley, Miley, twerk/ Twerk, yeah, uh-huh/ Twerk, Miley, Miley, Miley/ Only in America," in an album rated as "safe" by Billboard.
Whether he's having a dig at Cyrus or not, there's no way Jay-Z is going to stop the tidal wave of Miley's followers bustin' the move in clubs, or the pop princess herself from doing it in videos/on stage/in the street/whilst asleep so the 43 year-old rap veteran may as well just join in and get that thing a'shakin'.
