Jason Derulo's mother is desperate for him to have children.

The 'Talk Dirty' hitmaker - who has been single since splitting from Jordin Sparks last September - insists he isn't ready to settle down just yet, much to the disappointment of his mum.

He said: ''When I bought a house [in Miami], I was in a much different mindset and settling down, thinking of my future but you know I'm young, I'm 25 and I shouldn't be thinking about family. Not ready.

''My mum is crazy. She be like, settle down! I'm like 'Mum jeez, give me a second' she wants a grandbaby, she's ready.''

Instead, Jason is looking forward to moving into his new home so he can finally find the time to relax on the beach.

Speaking ahead of his performance at Isle of MTV Malta last night (07.07.15), he told BANG Showbiz: ''I actually need to be on the beach. Because I'm from Miami but I've never really had a chance to experience Miami Beach like that because I was under age and I went to college and then my career started.

''South Beach is the beach. You know what I'm saying. So I'm looking forward to moving to South Beach. It's time.''

Jason was joined at Isle of MTV Malta by Martin Garrix, Omi, Echosmith and Tory Kelly.

Highlights from the performances will broadcast on MTV internationally from August 1.
