Jason Derulo wants to marry and have children one day but isn't ready to settle down just yet.
Jason Derulo isn't ready to meet ''the one'' yet.
The 'Marry Me' hitmaker, who split from longterm girlfriend Jordin Sparks last year, is still enjoying being single and has no plans to settle down in the near future.
The 25-year-old singer said: ''I want to get married and have children one day, but not for a few years. I'm just not at that place in life.''
Jason has no regrets about ending his three-year romance with Jordin, 25.
He said: ''Everything in my life has been a learning experience.''
But she is the inspiration behind some of the tracks on his new album, 'Everything Is 4'.
He said: ''I write about my life experiences, and I can't dismiss where I've been. But I've also been through other things since then, and I'm not consumed by our relationship. I've moved on.''
But the singer admits it is difficult for him to find genuine women to date, who aren't attracted to his fame and success.
He told InTouch magazine: ''You have to be a little more careful because you never know if someone is using you. But I can't spend a lot of time worrying about that.
''I just like someone who loves to laugh and have a good time. She should be able to hold her drink. I don't want to baby-sit. Being drunk isn't a good look.''
