Jason Aldean has ended his marriage over twelve years, filing for divorce last week.
Jason Aldean has called time on his twelve year marriage, with the country singer and his wife Jessica citing irreconcilable differences between themselves as the reason for their split, People confirmed. Aldean's marriage has regularly taken up tabloid inches since last year, after rumours of infidelity and flirting with an American Idol contestant began in late 2012.
Jason Aldean's marriage is over.
The divorce papers were filed on Friday (April 26), a day after Aldean's rep confirmed that the two were experiencing troubles in the relationship. Aldean, 36, and his wife Jessica are parents to daughters Keeley, 10, and Kendyl, 5, and seemed to have a happy family life until photographs emerged showing the country star getting cosy with season 11 American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr last fall.
The country star released a statement yesterday (April 29) describing the difficult time he and his family are going through. "This is a really tough time for my entire family," Aldean's statement read, "Jessica and I have been together since we were teenagers. We've been through a lot of ups and downs over the years as we grew up together as a couple. She will always be important to me because she is the mother of my children, and I know that we will both always make our daughters our number-one priority. I've learned that everyone always rushes to judgement when they hear news like this. That's really hard because no one knows anything about our relationship but us. I understand that because of my job, I have to go through a lot of this in the public eye, but for my girls' sake I really wish people would give us some level of privacy and at the very least be respectful of them."
Jason attended this year ACM Awards alone.
At the end of last year Aldean sounded as though his relationship was getting back to working order, however the signs of a failing marriage were on display for much of the year, culminating in their divorce last week.
