Jamie Dornan and his wife Amelia Warner have finally given birth to a child, sources have confirmed to Us Weekly. The actor is said to be "thrilled" to become a first-time father but he will have his hands full bonding with his child whilst filming as lead role Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey adaptation.

When Jamie and Amelia announced they were expecting a baby back in June, the actor couldn't have possibly known that the Irishman would soon be catapulted on to a world stage when he stepped in to replace former lead Charlie Hunnam in the erotic movie. Filming in Vancouver began at the start of the month after weeks of casting difficulties.

Dornan will play the sexually adventurous billionaire Grey alongside The Social Network's Dakota Johnson who is cast as student and Grey's lover, Anastasia Steele. However, there aren't any fears over Dornan's absence during his busy filming schedule. He is said to have de-camped his young family into a rented property in Vancouver so that he can focus on the challenging role with the ones he loves close by.

Jamie has also even said that he's not embarrassed by the many sex scenes in the story: "I grew up in a very liberal place. I'm not saying we had a playroom, but I'm not shocked [by the sex in the book]. It's essential to tell the story...So it works for me," the unflustered star explained.

Amelia, who performs as a singer under the name Slow Moving Millie, and Jamie married in Somerset in April this year. The news that the couple were expecting was welcomed, particularly by Jamie's father and step-mother who are both respected gynaecology and obstetrics consultants in Northern Ireland.

Step-mother Samina was actually the first to break the exciting news back in the summer after Amelia's first scan. "Jim and I are delighted that our third grandchild is on the way," she said. "The early wellbeing scanning was a beautiful and emotional experience for all present."
