It’s a sure sign that Christmas is just around the corner when every time you turn on the radio either a cover version, a cheesy Christmas classic, or a dodgy cover of a cheesy Christmas classic graces your ears. This surprising cover of Love Affair’s “Everlasting Love,” by successful Jamie Cullum is no exception. An unnecessary and

predictable version of a classic tune, unnecessary because better can be expected of Jamie, and predictable because all Christmas covers must be of a romantic nature, but made ten times slushier by some over-sentimental crooner or boy band.

A song suitable for light-hearted Christmas soundtracks (especially after a few wines, helpings of turkey) and for sampling the new karaoke machine gift, and as soundtrack to romantic comedy, Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason, but which otherwise will unlikely make a dent in the charts, but potentially peoples hearts.
