James Blunt is ready to have children.
The 'You're Beautiful' hitmaker married Sofia Wellesley last month and is keen to start a family but would be content to shower his love on a pet if that doesn't happen.
He told HELLO! magazine: ''Having children seems like an amazing thing to do. A lot of my friends and family have done it. It would be a shame not to experience that.
''Failing that, I'll just have to buy a little dog.''
The 40-year-old singer and his new bride spent their honeymoon on a tour bus with James' ''hairy and smelly'' road crew as he went straight from marriage back to work.
He said: ''Our honeymoon is on a tour bus with 35 hairy, smelly, and beer-swilling band members and crew.''
The couple - who met at a party in 2012- legally tied the knot in the UK but then staged a blessing in Majorca before flying to their home on nearby island Ibiza for a party with friends.
Although they were unhappy about helicopters flying overheard to get a glimpse of the celebrations, James says they had a ''very beautiful'' day.
He said: ''I know I'm a singer and in the public eye, I get that. I guess they didn't understand the fact that if you didn't get an official invite through your door then you weren't supposed to be there.
''It was a very beautiful and very private affair with my closest friends and family.''
