Actor Jake Gyllenhaal Is Already Planning His Next Stage Project Following His Successful Broadway Debut Earlier This Year (15), And He Has Set His Sights On London's West End.
The Hollywood star won rave reviews for his turn in Nick Payne's play Constellations, which opened at the Samuel J. Friedman Theater in New York City in January (15), and he is hoping to tread the boards in London next before he heads back to Broadway.
He tells Jo Parkerson of Britain's Magic Radio, "My next stop, I think maybe before Broadway again, or anywhere in New York, will be the West End... If they'll have me, I'll have them! So if you'll have me, I'll have you."
Gyllenhaal goes on to reveal he is looking forward to a lengthy stint in the British capital because he enjoys walking around the streets unnoticed and visiting his favourite high street bakery.
He adds, "I rarely get recognised here (in London). I find the British people to be a little like shy, I guess, or maybe they just don't care... I eat (at) Greggs (bakery), Greggs baguettes, that's what I eat when I'm in London and I walk. And if it's sunny, I just find a green spot and sit. And that's what I do when I'm here."
The interview airs in full on Saturday (25Jul15).
