A series of unseen photographs of Hollywood legend Jack Nicholson taken before he shot to fame has been published to mark his 75th birthday.
The Shining star Nicholson reached the milestone on Sunday (22Apr12), and editors at Life magazine have unveiled several images of the fledgling actor in 1969, taken just weeks after the release of his breakthrough movie, Easy Rider.
Photographer Arthur Schatz took charge of the shoot at Nicholson's home in Los Angeles, and in the unpublished snaps the actor can be seen playing with his young daughter Jennifer, chatting with moviemaker Bob Rafelson, and enjoying a piano lesson.
