The trailer for The Wolverine was released online today and offers even more insight into the character portrayed by Hugh Jackman
The all new trailer for Hugh Jackman's next outing as James 'Logan' Howlett, aka Wolverine, went viral on Tuesday (May 21); giving fans their second look at the upcoming X-Men spin-off. The trailer hints at some key developments in Jackman's character, which follows on from his first solo outing as Wolverine.
The second trailer for The Wolverine introduces some new character from the Marvel Universe, as well as re-introducing some old ones, and looks as though it features some interesting twists. One of the most intriguing turns looks to be the disappearance of one of Wolverine's most vital; his healing power. We see a mysterious man offer to take away Wolverine's powers as payment for saving him during the Second World War, only for the the reality of the situation occur all too fast when he is shot and seemingly feels the full effect of the bullet. Will he make it until the end of the movie? Probably.

As well as these developments, the movie looks awash with characters from the Wolverine comics making their screen debut, with the trailer also featuring a came from one of his former X Men. The new movie is set predominantly in Japan, so as you would expect there's going to to be ninjas. Among them are Marvel expats Yukio and Viper as well as a Hollywood-updated Silver Samurai, which looks as though the Marvel anti-hero may suffer the same fate as Deadpool did in the last Wolverine film. Returning for a brief cameo in the trailer in Jean Grey, in what appears to be a dream/nightmare scene that may allude to her overall presence in the film; a reoccurring dead character.
The Wolverine has been directed by James Mangold (Girl, Interrupted, Walk the Line,) who co-wrote the script alongside Mark Bomback (Total Recall, Die Hard 4.0), Scott Frank (Minority Report) and Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects); and opens in theaters on July 23.
