Australian actor Hugh Jackman is to be honoured for his career achievements by bosses of the Museum of the Moving Image (Mmi) in New York City.
The X-Men star will receive the museum's 'Salute' at a charity gala in December (12) in recognition of his movie work and his contribution to theatre.
Jackman follows in the footsteps of a number of big-name stars to receive the honour, including Tom Cruise, Clint Eastwood, Robert De Niro, Tom Hanks, Al Pacino, Sidney Poitier and Julia Roberts.
Mmi executive director Carl Goodman says, "We are thrilled to be honouring one of the world's most beloved and talented performers."
The fundraising event will take place on 11 December at Manhattan's at Cipriani Wall Street.
