Hugh Jackman is no longer cuffed to a Harry Houdini musical on Broadway due to scheduling conflicts.
The Les Miserables hunk has been working on transforming the escapologist's life story into a stage extravaganza for several years, but he has now announced he has stepped down from the project.
A statement from Jackman reads, "I have greatly enjoyed the collaborative process on Houdini. Ultimately, though, I wasn't able to commit to the time this role will require.
"I have tremendous respect and admiration for the creative team and I wish everyone the best. I know they're well on their way to making something extraordinary."
It's the latest blow for the musical - The West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin was set to write the script but dropped out in January (13).
