Susanna Reid, the BBC Breakfast presenter, has hit back at television viewers who have filed complaints about her cleavage. Points of View aired numerous letters and emails about the singer's morning wardrobe choices, particularly during one interview with the actor Hugh Grant, but Reid has played down the fuss.

Speaking to the Radio Times, the presenter explained, "People seem to be shocked that women have breasts. There'll be complaints about the fact that there is literally a shadow showing.People are always going to talk about what women wear on TV. It's a fact of life". During one particular show last year, the 41-year-old's choice of dress drew a chorus of comments and won her a legion of new male fans. According to the UK's Daily Mail, viewers comments included, "I forgot to say how delicious Susanna Reid looking this morning", with another adding, "Yowza. No news is bad news when she's reading it". Reid - who has three children with her partner, the sports correspondent Dominic Cotton - will become the BBC's main breakfast anchor following the BBC's move to Salford next month.

Reid's colleague SIAN WILLIAMS has opted to stay in London and present a show for Radio 4, though Reid has shown her willingness to commute to the north.
