Playing iconic aviator AMELIA EARHART on the big screen kept actress Hilary Swank's high-flying dreams to become a pilot on the ground - because the film's insurance company bosses wouldn't let the Oscar winner take off.
Swank reveals she was well on her way to landing her pilot's license when she started shooting Amelia, and was told she'd have to halt her air miles.
She says, "I had about 19 hours of flying under my belt, but the insurance policy on the movie was never going to allow me do that (fly solo).
"But I definitely want to see that through."
