'Man of Steel' star Henry Cavill has been cast in new action-thriller 'Stratton', which is based on the character from the Duncan Falconer series of novels.
Henry Cavill is set to star in new action-thriller 'Stratton'.
The 31-year-old actor - who's best known for his role as Superman in 'Man of Steel' - will play the part of John Stratton, the character from the Duncan Falconer series of novels, with the film set to be produced by Cavill's Promethean Productions.
He said: ''Having the opportunity to expand my horizons into film-making is incredibly exciting.
''Getting to work so closely with my brother in this venture is equally so.''
'Stratton', the first in a series of eight novels by Falconer, is set in southern Italy, Rome and London, with shooting set to begin in the spring.
Meanwhile, Cavill is set to appear in the much-anticipated 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice', which will also feature Hollywood star Ben Affleck.
In a recent interview, the 42-year-old actor insisted the film won't be another 'Daredevil', the 2003 superhero movie.
Affleck told NPR: ''I have regrets about 'Daredevil'.
''I have regrets about all the movies that I don't think were executed properly. Look, if I thought we were remaking 'Daredevil', I'd be out there picketing myself.''
However, Affleck praised the behind-the-scenes team working on the film.
He said: ''It was written by Chris Terrio, who wrote Argo, who's not a comic guy. And it's directed by Zack Snyder, who's an incredibly magical sort of visual stylist, who's steeped in the comic world.
''And you have this sandwich of talents. I felt very confident about it. I thought it would be nice to make one of these movies really, really good.''
