Helen Mirren has admitted she ''used to worry a lot more'' about her looks than she does now she's approaching 70.

The 'Mamma Mia' actress - who was the face of a L'Oreal Age Perfect campaign last year - thinks ageing has its benefits and believes ''when you're young and beautiful, you're paranoid and miserable'',

She said: ''I used to worry a lot more about my looks than I do now - when you're young and beautiful, you're paranoid and miserable. I think the great advantage of getting older is that you let go of certain things.''

On the topic of ageing Helen previously told British Closer magazine: ''I don't often wish that I'm younger because I think that it's pretty cool to be older. What I love the most about being older is that lovely I don't give a f**kness kind of thing.''

And on turning 70 she said: ''Your 40s are good. Your 50s are great. Your 60s are fab. And 70 is f***ing awesome. I'm not quite there yet, but almost.''

The flawless veteran actress turns 70 on Sunday (26.07.15).
