During a fun interview with American talk show host, Jimmy Fallon, Dame Helen Mirren has once again proved that age is nothing but a number.

The 69-year-old actress, who won an Oscar for her role as Britain’s current monarch in The Queen, was in a playful mood when she relayed that Award acceptance speech after inhaling helium.

Appearing on NBC’s Tonight Show on Monday, the Red star was promoting her new film Woman In Gold but seemed to be much more enamoured with the affect helium had on her speech.

She told Fallon: "I haven’t done this since I was about 11," before informing her host to "suck in".

Collapsing in a fit of giggles, the superstar than launched into an acceptance speech while holding a toy panda.

She said, high-pitched voice and all: "Oh thank you, I’m so honoured. This is the most fantastic thing I’ve ever had."

In between all the fun and frolics, Mirren spoke about her new film, based on a true story, in which she plays an elderly Jewish World War Two refugee, Maria Altmann, who battles the Austrian government to regain paintings that by artist Gustav Klimt stolen from her family by the Nazis.
