Katie Smith and Harry Styles were quite obviously smitten with each other when they both competed in the early stages of X Factor back in 2010. In fact, it was so obvious, that the spin-off show, Xtra Factor even arranged a date for them. Their short bout of puppy love soon came to an end though, when Katie didn’t make it through to the live shows. And Harry, of course, went on to be a member of One Direction, one of the most successful boy bands in the world… and date Xtra factor host Caroline Flack. Not quite how that was supposed to work out, that one…

Not letting X Factor rejection get the better of her, Katie is now auditioning for The Voice, along with her new boyfriend. Funnily enough, Katie’s new boyfriend also has curly brown hair, much like Harry Styles of One Direction fame. Even funnier, he’s called Harry, much like Harry Styles of One Direction fame. An source told The Sun that the pair perform a duet on the new show, in an attempt to impress at least one of the judges enough to turn around with their version of ‘Candy’ by Paolo Nutini. When it’s a panel of Tom Jones, will.i.am, Jessie J and Danny O’Donoghue that you’re trying to impress, of course, that’s no mean feat.

Talking about Katie and Harry’s brief romance, a source said “Katie can claim to have had Harry’s eye before he was famous. He was smitten with her for ages and they used to flirt all the time on the show. The Xtra Factor even picked up on it and arranged a date for them. It was a puppy love thing but was destined to end abruptly as she didn’t make it to the live shows. Who knows, maybe he will watch the show on Saturday and feel an urge to give her a call?” We don’t suppose Harry number two would be too happy about that, now.
