One Direction’s Harry Styles was spotted in the House of Lords on Tuesday (July 6), reportedly attending a debate about the consequences of Britain’s decision to leave the EU. Styles, who has also just revealed his new haircut, was said to have been invited to the debate by Labour peer Professor Robert Winston.

Lord Winston’s son Ben is a film director who has worked with One Direction on music videos and documentaries in the past. According to ITV, Harry is said to watched the daily question-time session in the Lords, in which Lord Winston made an intervention.

A Labour Lords spokesman added: "My theory, however, is that he was in for the start of the two-day debate on Brexit and its consequences. He's clearly heard that the Government has no direction.”

Yesterday Harry’s sister Gemma gave the world its first proper look at Harry’s new short haircut. Posting a picture of her brother wearing a blue and white star covered shirt on Snapchat she wrote: “Independence Day shirt….? No…? Did I….?”

Harry’s haircut came after he was cast as a solider in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming World War II drama Dunkirk. The singer will star alongside Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance an Cillian Murphy, in the story of the historic 1940 evacuation.

Last month it was also reported that Harry had signed a solo record deal with Columbia Records, the same label behind One Direction. According to Billboard, the terns of the solo deal are not yet known and there’s currently no timeline in place for a solo album.
