Radio DJ David "Kidd" Kraddick's death has attracted sympathy from across the entertainment business and from his fans. Kraddick hosted a number of shows based in Texas but a number were synchronised across the US. The much-liked Radio personality died suddenly on Saturday 27th July in New Orleans aged just 53 years old.

Kraddick was hosting a charity golf tournament, in aid of his Kidd's Kids foundation, just outside New Orleans when he fell ill. He was transported to a New Orleans hospital where he died in the afternoon. The cause of his death is yet to be confirmed. 

A statement made on his foundation's website asked the press and fans to respect the privacy of Kraddick's family and friends during their time of mourning. Those he worked with on Kidd Kraddick in the Morning are said to be "heartbroken". He described as "a dear friend and leader" by his colleagues. 

The statement has focussed on the little positive there is in Kraddick's death, saying ""he died doing what he loved, and his final day was spent selflessly focused on those special children that meant the world to him." It also stated that Kraddick had devoted his "life to making people smile every morning, and for 21 years his foundation has been dedicated to bringing joy to thousands of chronically and terminally ill children."

Many of Kraddick's celebrity friends and acquaintances expressed their sorrow at the tragic news. These include Harry Styles of One Direction who said he was "absolutely devastated to hear about the sad passing of Kidd Kraddick" who was a "lovely man". He later added "my love and thoughts go out to his friends and family. Very very sad news."

Kelly Clarkson also mourned Kraddick's passing. She said he was her "childhood DJ" and that "he was always nice 2 me from the beginning". Demi Lovato also remembered Kraddick's shows from her childhood, she tweeted "grew up with you on my radio.was a pleasure knowing you for so many years".

Others included fellow Radio personality Ryan Seacrest who tweeted "so sad hearing about my radio brother Kid Kraddick. One of a kind and one of the best at what he did every morning. U will be missed Kidd." Joe Jonas and Dr Phil also felt obliged to comment as did countless other celebrities and fans.
