Harrison Ford is looking forward to getting back on the Star Wars Episode VII set within around 8 weeks following his run in with the YT-1300 light freighter.

The accident initially saw the 71-year-old actor, who is reprising his one of his most iconic roles for the reboot, airlifted to hospital after a hydraulic door fell on him and broke his ankle while he at Pinewood Studios.

“The initial day or two after the accident it was hard to move things around but now we have had more time we can juggle things, bring some scenes forward and push others back. There are lots of other actors in the movie so it is not a disaster. We are still confident the film can stay on schedule,” a source told the Mirror.

“At the moment it looks like Harrison is going to be off set for six to eight weeks but the main priority is making sure he is OK,” added the source, while, over the weekened a publicist told Sky News they were “hoping to announce some good news soon.“

Other sources, like The Daily Mail, have reported that Ford may have to be filmed from the waist up to compensate for his broken ankle. This would mean rearranging some scenes to ensure Solo appears untarnished – however, any move would surely tarnish the return of such an important character to the franchise.

Star Wars: Episode VII, which is being directed by Jj Abrams, began filming in Abu Dhabi in mid-May. It is set 35 years after the last film they all appeared in together in 1983’s Return of the Jedi.
