Halle Berry has lost her engagement ring.

The 48-year-old actress - who married Olivier Martinez in 2013 - sparked speculation her relationship was in trouble when she was pictured without her jewellery, but sources close to the actress revealed it went missing in January 2014 at the Acapulco Film Festival.

She caused concern when she was spotted without the piece of jewellery but insiders have revealed her marriage is as happy as ever and she and Olivier - who is the father of her 22-month-old son Maceo - just haven't gotten around to replacing it.

TMZ reports Halle believes the ''ring either fell off her hand or she left it on a table and someone took it''.

Meanwhile, the 'X-Men' star has recently been dealing with her child support trial against ex-partner Gabriel Aubry after she asked a judge to reduce the amount of money she is paying the Canadian model to help care for their seven-year-old daughter Nahla.

Halle wants the amount slashed from $16,000 to approximately $3,800 per month.

The Oscar-winning star previously indicated she is happy to pay for Gabriel to properly look after Nahla, but believes he is using the money to avoid work and he needs to get a job.

A document submitted to the court by the actress and her lawyer last November allegedly stated: ''There is no case, no law, no logic that says a healthy, active man gets to simply live off child support that the wealthier mother earns.''

The former couple, who split in 2010 after four years together, currently share joint custody of Nahla.
