Gwyneth Paltrow has confessed she once used olive oil as a beauty treatment as her skin is so important to her she's willing to rely on home remedies when she doesn't have products to hand.
Gwyneth Paltrow uses olive oil as a beauty treatment.
The 'Iron Man 3' actress has admitted she spends as much time ''as possible'' looking after her skin and even makes her own home remedies out of the edible oil if she doesn't have any products to hand.
She said: ''I've always been told I have good skin, so I try to look after it as much as possible. I usually deep cleanse and exfoliate my skin four times a week. I get a gentle peel from my facialist that takes away all the dead cells on the surface, and then I focus on moisturisation.
''When I'm flying a lot, I have to make extra effort with my skin, even if it's just using a quick hot cloth wash and applying organic oils. Anything will do - one time, I even applied olive oil.''
The 42-year-old beauty - who split from husband Chris Martin earlier this year - went on to reveal that her exercise regime is her anti-aging secret.
She told Stylist magazine: ''I work out a lot and that's helped me to maintain a more youthful face because when you do a lot of cardiovascular exercise, it boosts your blood flow.''
Gwyneth also confessed that despite having been blonde for the majority of her life, she thinks it puts more pressure on her to look good.
She added: ''I don't understand the whole idea of blondes having more fun. I'd say brunettes have more fun as they can go under the radar a little bit more.''
