Gwen Stefani says she initially felt ''awkward'' working with her husband Gavin Rossdale on 'The Voice' but her nerves soon vanished when he met her team of wannabe pop stars.
Gwen Stefani was nervous about working with her husband Gavin Rossdale on 'The Voice' USA.
The 44-year-old singer is acting as a mentor for the first time when season seven of the talent show kicks off later this month.
Gwen asked her rock star spouse - who is the frontman of Bush - to act as a guest coach to her team of wannabe singers but admits the experience felt ''awkward''.
The No Doubt singer - who three sons, Kingston, eight, Zuma, six, and six-month-old Apollo, with Gavin - said: ''It was just awkward. We've only collaborated on making babies!''
However, the nervousness Gwen felt about working with Gavin on the show quickly dissipated and she was pleased to have him on set for support.
She told Fox News: ''It was just so fun. It was right at the beginning of the show and I was just getting my feet wet, so having him there was kind of rad.''
Gwen is joined on the judging panel by fellow newcomer Pharrell Williams and veteran coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
The new series of 'The Voice' kicks off on NBC on September 22.
