Guy Ritchie is reportedly considering a si-movie series for Warner Bros. based on the legend of King Arthur.
Guy Ritchie is considering a six-movie series based on the legend of King Arthur.
The 'Snatch' director is hoping to helm a fantasy series, which has been created by Joby Harold - who has written a script for the first movie - for Warner Bros.
Ritchie and his partner Lionel Wigram have previously developed a saga based on the 6th century king - who led the defence of Britain against a Saxon invasion - penned by 'Transpotting' writer John Hodge and following the monarch as he assembled his knights, but pulled the plug when Warner Bros. came close to a different adaptation, 'Arthur & Lancelot', which would have been based on the younger days of the king and his friend and knight.
However, the studio - who paid $2 million for David Dobkin's script - scrapped the movie, which had 'Game Of Thrones' star Kit Harington and 'Robocop's Joel Kinnaman in the title roles, because its $130 million budget was $20 million too high.
The new project will be produced by Wigram, Akiva Goldsman through Weed Road, Harold and Tory Tunnell through Safehouse Pictures.
