Hey, 'The X-Files' is probably returning.
Iconic sci-fi drama The X-Files could be returning to screens after Fox opened up talks with original stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. Fox TV Group chairman Gary Newman said at the Television Critics' Association press tour that he was "hopeful" about the outcome.
Gillian Anderson could return for a new season of The X-Files
"We've maintained a good relationship with Chris, David and Gillian. We're very hopeful, but it's hard. The actors are very busy. They have a lot going on. Chris has a lot on his plate, so it's just trying to carve out the time," he said.

Newman's colleague Dana Walden said that conversations at this stage have only been logistical and are focusing on when the X-Files creators and its stars are next available. However, Walden did confirm that any new series would indeed feature both Duchovny and Anderson.
Screenwriter Chris Carter had hinted at a possible reboot in the summer and had acknowledged talks with Fox and 20th Century Fox. There is a definite desire to see a new season of the X-Files and the original series' still has a huge fanbase.

And despite recent speculation, we are unlikely to get a new season of Prison Break, despite Newman saying they would "bring Prison Break back in a heartbeat."
