Human rights lawyer Amal joined her husband as he headed back to Augusta this week (begs01Jun15) to meet up with his extended relatives, and during the mini-break, the couple stopped by popular eatery Magee's Bakery to taste Clooney's favourite childhood treat, the ironically titled Poor Man's Pie, aka transparent pie.

Co-owner Russell DICkinson reveals he was pleasantly surprised to see the actor back in his establishment with his wife, telling Eonline.com, "George grew up around here. They both ordered transparents. It's also called clear pie or cellophane pie. It is made of eggs, butter, sugar and milk. It was (Amal's) first time having one and she absolutely loved it."

During the visit, Amal revealed she is fast growing fond of Southern food.

DICkinson continues, "She mentioned she's just become a fan of country breakfasts, biscuits and gravy."

The Clooneys were in Augusta for a family gathering, where Amal was able to meet some of the Ocean's Eleven star's relatives who were unable to attend the couple's lavish wedding in Venice, Italy in September (14).
