The two stars appear in the brand new Nespresso ad for North America, which will launch next week (02Nov15).

The Oscar-winning Ocean's Eleven star donned full military regalia for the comedy commercial, details of which are being kept under wraps.

The campaign marks the first time Clooney has appeared in a branded ad in North America, having previously featured in Nespresso commercials shown in Europe.

The actor is the coffee company's U.S. brand ambassador, and has appeared in several overseas ads over the past nine years. He also serves on the Nespresso Sustainability Advisory Board, which attempts to improve the lives of coffee farmers around the world.

"I've been working with Nespresso internationally for nine years and I really love and respect the brand, what they do, and how they do it," Clooney says in a press release. "We have a shared commitment to sustainability, most recently helping to rebuild coffee farms in South Sudan."

The movie star has serious links to Sudan after visiting the country's border region with his father, former TV news anchor Nick Clooney, on a fact-finding mission about the conflict there.

The risky trip led to Clooney becoming a leading advocate in the fight to end the civil war in the country. He has appeared before U.S. politicians on several occasions, urging them to intervene in the conflict.
