I mean, does George Clooney like me? Hope so.
George Clooney, Russell Crowe and Leonardo Dicaprio are not best mates. They’re just not. But Clooney and Brad Pitt are solid bros. They’re solid bros. The Monuments Men actor/director/writer/producer was talking in an atypically candid interview with Esquire magazine.
George Clooney has been rather outspoken in his latest interview
Proving irrevocably that he’s a weird man, Crowe sent Clooney a book of his own poetry with a view to "apologise for insulting the shit out of me, which he did". According to Clooney, Crowe "picked a fight with me. He started it for no reason at all. He put out this thing saying, 'George Clooney, Harrison Ford, and Robert De Niro are sellouts.'"
Everyone’s favourite childhood-actor-who-turned-out-to-actually-be-quite-good Leonardo DiCaprio also comes under fire from Clooney, who isn’t particularly fond of the company he keeps, especially his 90s entourage, who seemed to view New York City as a public theme park, and its residence as toys.
"How important it is to have someone in your life to tell you what's what,” pondered George. “I'm not sure if Leo has someone like that."
Crowe and Leo aren't in Clooney's 'best mates' list
But who does Clooney kick back and drink vodka with; who does he actually like? Brad Pitt, that’s who. "For a long time now, Brad has been the biggest movie star in the world ... He's bigger than me, bigger than DiCaprio. And I really admire how he deals with that. It's not easy for him," explained the former E.R actor.
Damn: Monuments Men is delayed, ineligable for The Oscars
"We met up ... we drank a lot of vodka and he just said, 'This one's going to kill me, man.' It was a huge reshoot and Brad was putting it on his shoulders,” added Clooney – Pitt was referring to his World War Z zombie shoots in London.
“He picked it up and put it on his shoulders and took it away from all the people who were screwing it up. Carried it over the finish line. Got it made into a film that was well reviewed and made a lot of money."
So there you have it: Clooney isn’t hot on Crowe; he’d probably like to see Leo hang out with someone else for a while, and he can’t get enough of Brad Pitt.
