George Clooney reportedly can't sleep without a special cashmere "security blanket".

The 48-year-old actor takes the sheet everywhere with him, and insisted maids in Hawaii lay it on top of his bed every day while shooting his latest film 'The Descendants' there.

A worker at the Kahala Hotel in Honolulu told the Daily Star newspaper: "We had to lay it on top of his sheets when we turned down his bed.

"It was pretty funny. It looked a lot like a security blanket. George left it in his room when he checked out and we had to send it to his next address. He obviously can't sleep without it."

George was pictured taking romantic strolls on the beach with his girlfriend, Italian TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis, while filming in Honolulu.

In 'The Descendants' George plays a wealthy landowner who's seemingly perfect life is turned upside down when his unfaithful wife slips into a coma and he is forced to find her lover. The film is scheduled for release next year.
