Gene Simmons has paid tribute to his late Kiss bandmate Eric Carr on what would have been the star's 63rd birthday.

The drummer replaced original member Peter Criss following his departure in 1980 and stayed with the group until his death from cancer in 1991 at the age of 41.

Simmons had his pal on his mind on Friday morning (12Jul13), the day Carr would have turned 63, and he took to his Twitter.com page to remember his bandmate.

In a post, he writes, "Here's to Eric Carr - long may his memory live. No finer human being ever walked the face of the planet. He was a good man. I miss him."
