U2 And Foo Fighters Cancel Gigs Following Paris Attacks

Coldplay and Madonna have also paid tribute to the victims of Friday’s terrorist attacks in the French capital.
U2 and Foo Fighters have both announced they’ve canceled scheduled gigs in the wake of the attacks in Paris on Friday evening. Foo Fighters will now no longer continue on the rest of their European tour, which was due to stop in the French capital on Monday (November 16th).

A statement on the Foo Fighters’ official website read: "It is with profound sadness and heartfelt concern for everyone in Paris that we have been forced to announce the cancellation of the rest of our tour.”
"In light of this senseless violence, the closing of borders, and international mourning, we can't continue right now. There is no other way to say it. This is crazy and it sucks. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was hurt or who lost a loved one."
Irish rock band U2 have postponed their planned Saturday night concert in Paris, saying they would perform again in the French capital "at an appropriate time”. The show had been scheduled to be broadcast live by HBO in America.
Writing on their official website the band said: "We watched in disbelief and shock at the unfolding events in Paris and our hearts go out to all the victims and their families across the city tonight. We are devastated at the loss of life at the Eagles of Death Metal concert and our thoughts and prayers are with the band and their fans. And we hope and pray that all of our fans in Paris are safe.”

Speaking on Irish radio station RTE 2 FM, frontman Bono commented, "If you think about it, the majority of victims last night are music fans. This is the first direct hit on music that we’ve had in this so-called War on Terror.”
“And it’s very upsetting. These are our people. ... The cold-blooded effect of this slaughter is deeply disturbing and that's what I can't get out of my head.” The band have also postponed another scheduled headlining gig at the AccorHotels Arena on Sunday.
On Friday evening Coldplay performed a short, acoustic concert in Los Angeles after postponing a larger TIDAL and KROQ live streamed gig "out of respect for the terrible events in Paris.” During the gig the band held a moment of silence for the victims in Paris and also performed a cover of John Lennon's 'Imagine'.
Madonna also held a moment of silence during her Saturday night show at the Tele 2 Arena in Stockholm. With tears in her eyes, the singer told the crowd she was considering cancelling Saturday night's show "because in many ways I feel torn.”
“Why am I up here dancing and having fun when people are crying over the loss of their loved ones?” However she then thought that cancelling the show would only let the terrorists win: "Why should I allow them to stop me and to stop us from enjoying freedom? Only love will change the world,” the singer added.
