The Foo Fighters Have Reportedly Signed Up To Headline U.k. Music Festival Glastonbury In 2016 After They Were Forced To Pull Out Of This Year's (15) Show Due To Frontman Dave Grohl's Broken Leg.
The rocker fell offstage during a Swedish gig earlier this month (Jun15) and suffered a number of fractures, prompting the band to cancel a series of U.K. dates including a headline appearance at Glastonbury.
Foo Fighters were replaced by British band Florence + the MAChine to play the Pyramid Stage on Friday (26Jun15), and insiders now say that Glastonbury boss Michael Eavis has rushed to sign Grohl's group up for next year's (16) event.
A source tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Dave was beyond gutted about pulling out of Glastonbury, especially at such short notice. But Michael was quick to book him for next year as he's desperate for the Foos to headline. He knows they'll go down a storm at Glasto. Dave agreed within seconds."
Thousands of revellers have descended on Somerset, England this week (beg22Jun15) to enjoy the iconic festival, which features other performers including Kanye West, The Who and Pharrell Williams. Glastonbury runs until Sunday (24-28Jun15).
