Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell's split wasn't dramatic but they drifted apart after the birth of their first child last July.
Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell's split wasn't dramatic.
The former couple, who announced their separation on Wednesday (28.05.14) after 19 months of marriage, reportedly drifted apart after the birth of their 10-month-old son.
A source told PEOPLE.com: ''Nothing dramatic happened. They are friends and will continue to parent their son together. They have been friends for years and are happier this way than being married.''
The 'True Blood' actress and the 28-year-old British actor realised they wanted different things in life.
The insider explained: ''Evan loves being a mom. After her son was born, he has been her No. 1 priority. The marriage always came in second. They have different goals for the future and want to pursue them separately.''
The source added: ''Evan is very edgy and adventurous and wants to find a partner that she can share that with.''
The 26-year-old actress is surrounding herself with close friends following the split and hung out with Ellen Page, Linda Perry and Sara Gilbert at the Sayers Club in Los Angeles on May 20. She also spent last weekend with pals Phoebe Dahl and Ruby Rose.
Jamie and and Evan first met on set the set of Green Day's music video 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' in 2005, but split a year later before reuniting in 2011.
The couple were last photographed together at LACMA 2013 Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles last November.
