The 40-year-old actress stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to share her experiences of motherhood 11 weeks after giving birth to her first child.
It has been over two months since Hollywood's hottest couple, Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling, welcomed their baby daughter Esmeralda into the world, and the 40-year-old actress is loving been a mother.

11 weeks after giving birth for the first time, Mendes appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to discuss parenthood, and revealed she is more focused on the couple's child than losing her post-pregnancy weight.

"We're getting the hang of it, the sleeping thing, but I'm exhausted and it's the best," the proud mother told the host. "I'm so incredibly tired. I thought I was tired before at times, but no, nothing like this. But I wouldn't have it any other way."
Even though it was well publicised Mendes gave birth to her and Gosling's baby girl in September, the 'We Own The Night' actress never confirmed she was pregnant, nor did she announce Esmeralda's arrival.

"Early on we decided it's going to be so hard for her to have privacy, and we thought, 'Well, this is the first opportunity we can give her to protect her,'" she explained. "So, I had a nice, calm pregnancy."
Gosling and Mendes decided to keep the birth of their daughter as private as possible
Mendes is currently enjoying being a mother for the first time, and although she feels no pressure to return to the gym just yet, breast feeding has been helping her shed those pounds.
"Breast-feeding. I've always heard it. It really does help to shrink your uterus back to normal size. It does! I know it's a really weird thing to say, but it does," the movie star revealed. "Breast-feeding is really helping, and then obviously you want to be healthy for the baby because she's eating kind of what I'm eating, so you want to make good choices."
