Emma Watson has laughed off claims that she’s preparing for the role of Anastasia Steele in the forthcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie. The rumours are absurd, says Watson – who’s better known for playing child wizard Hermione Granger than raunchy roles such as 50 Shades would provide – as she hasn’t even read the script. “I think it’s hilarious. It’s so funny. And people don’t want to let that drop. They’re like ‘oh no she’s saying she’s not gonna do it but really she is.’ I’m like, no honestly I really haven’t read a script. This is not real.”

Watson is currently promoting her latest movie The Perks of Being A Wallflower and she told MTV how she prepared for the role of Sam in the movie. “Every now and again, even Emma Watson has a spontaneous moment. And it’s those moments that I draw upon to create Sam. She’s a real free spirit, she’s a unique, she’s original and a bit mad. She likes to dance and she likes Rocky Horror. I think more people should randomly dance.” Still, Watson may have a touch of the free spirit in her but it’s a bit of a stretch of the imagination to imagine the clean-cut young actress taking on the S&M storylines of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Jk Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter novels that spawned the movies, recently said that she hadn’t completely closed the door on writing another children’s book based on the Potter stories. Emma, however, has put an end to any thoughts of playing Hermione Granger “We made eight of them and I think that’s enough for one decade, no?”
