Actress Emma Thompson has mixed memories of dating Hugh Laurie at university in Cambridge, England - because he used to fall asleep while walking her home.

Laurie was the SENSE AND SENSIBILITY star's first boyfriend at university but the romance was doomed because the TV star was always so tired.

Thompson explains, "Hugh was rowing... He used to just row the entire time - and just eat steak - but he had this extraordinary capacity to sleep whilst walking.

"I remember walking home with him with his arm around me in a big, black cloak, and he was asleep. That's quite talented."
