The Rocket Man hitmaker blasted Gabbana and his designing partner Domenico Dolce over an interview in which they stated that children born using IVF are "chemical offsprings".

Sir Elton, who has two children with David Furnish, called for a boycott of the Dolce & Gabbana fashion house and earned support from stars including Victoria Beckham, Courtney Love and fellow gay dad Ricky Martin.

The pair clarified their comments, insisting they did not intend to blast gay families, and Gabbana has now slammed the singer for his boycotting campaign, calling him ignorant for not accepting other points of view.

He tells Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, "I didn't expect this, coming from someone whom I considered, and I stress 'considered', an intelligent person like Elton John. I mean, you preach understanding, tolerance and then you attack others? Only because someone has a different opinion? Is this a democratic or enlightened way of thinking? This is ignorance, because he ignores the fact that others might have a different opinion and that theirs is as worthy of respect as his... It's an authoritiarian (sic) way of seeing the world: agree with me or, if you don't, I'll attack you."
