Sir Elton John is moving forward with plans to turn his life story into a major movie-musical.
The veteran musician is teaming with his film producer partner David Furnish and Billy Elliot writer Lee Hall to work on Rocketman, which will tell the story of the star's life and career through his music.
Sir Elton will serve as executive producer and the collaboration will mark his second project with Hall, who worked on the Billy Elliot stage adaptation with the singer/songwriter, who wrote the soundtrack.
Producer Steve Hamilton Shaw tells Deadline.com, "Rocketman will be a radically different kind of biopic. It will be as unique as Elton's life, told in a non-linear and hyper-visual manner that will transport people through the many intense experiences, some wonderful, some not, that helped define Elton as an artist, musician and man."
