Sir Elton John is celebrating after signing a new partnership with U.S. government agencies to help create an Aids relief initiative.
The Rocket Man hitmaker unveiled the Health4Men program on Friday (24Oct14) alongside U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.
The $7 million (£4.4 million) partnership between his Aids Foundation and two governmental agencies will help expand access to Hiv services for gay and transgender people in Africa, with the initial focus on South Africa.
John tells Reuters news agency that the joint project was "a dream come true" and adds, "We should be living in an Aids-free world, and that people, no matter who they love, who they are, should have a right to be Aids-free... I think we will do great work, and we have a lot more work to do, but this is a good start."
Kerry also added that the singer was "bringing hope and help to a lot of people".
John launched his Aids Foundation in the U.S. in 1992.
