The Rocket Man star took umbrage with the Italian style duo, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, after they labelled children born using in vitro fertilisation (IVF) "chemical offsprings" from a "rented uterus" in an interview.

However, the style stars made amends for their comments in a new chat with Vogue magazine, which was published this month (Aug15), with Dolce addressing Sir Elton as he declared, "I am so sorry. It was not my intention to offend anyone. I've done some soul-searching. I've talked to Stefano a lot about this. I've realised that my words were inappropriate, and I apologise. They are just kids. You don't need labels, baby labels."

Sir Elton, who has two sons born via IVF, has now responded to Dolce's comments and publicly accepted the apology, uploading a picture of the designers' logo to his Instagram.com page and writing, "Big thanks to Stefano and Domenico for the apology over their comments about IVF children. We have always been big fans of their work. Now that the slate is clean we look forward wearing their designs once again. We love Italy!... #ShareTheLove (sic)."
