“They did a bunch of tests on me and I have been diagnosed with exhaustion. “I’m a hard worker. I don’t cancel anything unless I really need to, but my doctor said, ‘Ellie, your voice is going to burn out’. Glastonbury was the point where I realised I was pretty exhausted. It’s all good though — I’m feeling really positive about the rest of the year.”

Ellie spoke to the Standard at Working Title Pictures in Fitzrovia, where she hosted a private screening of environmental documentary Racing Extinction. “I’m here tonight because I am so passionate,” she said.

“My doctor advised I didn’t do anything for the next few weeks, but this screening room is less than a mile from my house and I don’t have to sing … and this is a matter of saving the planet. It’s the most important thing in the world.”
