Ellie Goulding claims she does yoga instead of drugs.

The 'Burn' hitmaker admits she's addicted to the traditional Indian discipline and can't go a day without an intense workout session.

The 27-year-old singer said: ''I get the biggest high when I do yoga. People don't realise that there's such an incredible drug in life that doesn't involve any substances.''

The British beauty added: ''My training is part of my life. It's something I need to do every day, because it affects my mood, my fitness, even my mind-set onstage.''

Ellie - who is dating McFly star Dougie Poynter, who sought treatment in rehab for alcohol and drug addiction in 2011 - also enjoys running on a regular basis, even when she's touring, because it helps her to feel more in control of her life.

She explained: ''I don't feel emotional when I run, and that's what I love about it. It keeps me present more than anything else.''

She also told Self magazine that exercise helps her to stay grounded despite her huge success.

She said: ''I've gained slightly different priorities while being on this planet, and one of them is to respect my body and to do as much as I can with it while I'm here.''
