UK singer Ellie Goulding has managed to stay at the top the UK Singles Chart for a third week with her single 'Burn'
Ellie Goulding has beaten off competition from her trans-Atlantic rivals to remain at the number one spot on the UK Singles Chart for a third successive week, with her song 'Burn.' The single, Ellie's first ever number one, first entered the chart a month ago and soon knocked Miley Cyrus' 'We Can't Stop' from the No. 1 spot, where it has stayed for yet another week.

The 26-year-old Herefordshire-native was announced as the official No. 1 artist in the UK for a third week by Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, who spoke with Ellie about her momentous achievement on his show. The singer told Mills, “It feels amazing, but weird. Weird because I didn’t really expect it to be Number 1, let alone for this amount of time!"
“I feel very lucky, because it wasn’t like I released it in a quiet week of mediocre songs,” she added. “There are some big smashes, so I’m really happy. I didn’t think I had a chance in hell about getting a Number 1 with Avicii’s song around, and Gaga, and Miley. I was surprised! Lady GaGa WILL be Number 1 at some point.”
The rest of the top three was made up of fellow non-movers, with Avicii’s 'Wake Me Up' holding on to the No. 2 spot, whilst Klangkarussell and Will Heard’s 'Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine)' collaboration also stays still at No. 3. The rest of the top five was made up of the Cedric Gervais remix of Lana Del Rey’s 'Summertime Sadness' at No. 4 and Miley Cyrus’ 'We Can’t Stop' at No. 5. Can she hold on for a fourth week?
