As the 86th annual Academy-Awards begin, Ellen Degeneres says she is "honored and flattered" to be hosting for the second time, before highlighting some of night's nominee's including first timers Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years A Slave) and Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips).

Ellen made fun of Jennifer Lawrence in opening monologue

The 56 year-old playfully joked that "between all of the nominee's you have made 1400 films.and only six years of college," and then poked fun at Jennifer Lawrence for falling over at last year's ceremony, before pointing out the 23 year-olds mishap when getting out of a car at the red carpet. 

"If you win tonight I think we should bring you the Oscar," DeGeneres laughed. "We can do that, right? Can we do that?"
