Movie icon DAME Elizabeth Taylor was presented with a Humanitarian Award For AIDS Activism at a fundraiser in Santa Monica, California on Thursday (27Sep07).
The 75-year-old, who was in a wheelchair, is a founding chairwoman of the annual MACy's Passport benefit, which launched in 1988 and raises funds and awareness of HIV and AIDS.
During her acceptance speech, Taylor told the audience, "I was here at the first night, here last year. I will continue to be here until we defeat the enemy of HIV and AIDS."
