Funnyman Eddie Izzard has vowed to pursue a career in politics by standing as a candidate for the position of London Mayor in 2020.
The comedian is a vocal supporter of Britain's Labour party and campaigned on former leader Gordon Brown's behalf in the run-up to the U.K.'s general election last year (10).
He has now confirmed he will put himself forward to run London as a Member of Parliament (MP) or a Member of the European Parliament (Mep) in the 2020 ballot.
Izzard tells Sky News, "I'm standing for either Mayor of London MP or Mep in nine years' time, in 2020. Can you set your watches?"
