The British singer, who is currently on tour in North America, was in a nearby music store when he overheard the cover and decided to join 13-year-old Sydney Bourbeau for her fundraising gig.

The teen, who was performing as part of an Edmonton Humane Society benefit, tells the Edmonton Journal, "It's the best thing that's ever happened to me... I didn't want to stop (playing), but I wanted to talk to him."

As Bourbeau gathered herself after meeting and performing with her pop idol, Sheeran's manager offered her two tickets to the singer's concert in the city on Sunday (14Jun15).
