The N.W.A. biopic saw off all competition for a second weekend in a row.
Straight Outta Compton is still sitting on top of the US box office, thanks to a second weekend which saw the biopic add $26.8 million to its total. The film, which tells the story of 90’s rap group N.W.A. easily surpassed its competition, which included three new releases.

Straight Outta Compton has already passed the $100 million mark after just two weeks of release and this weekend saw its total rise to $111.5 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The biopic also added around 200 more theatres for its second week, bringing the total to around 3,000.
In the number two spot was Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation, which is now in its fourth week in theatres. The film, which is the fifth outing for Tom Cruise as agent Ethan Hunt, took an estimated $11.7 million at the weekend, bringing its domestic total to $158 million so far.
Sinister 2 was the weekend’s highest placing new release, debuting in the number three spot. The horror sequel took $10.6 million, just surpassing its $10 million budget. In at number four was video game adaptation Hitman: Agent 47, which took an estimated $8.2 million.
The Man From U.N.C.L.E celebrated it’s second week of release by taking $7.4 million and managing to keep its place in the top five. The big screen remake of the 1960s Spy Film is directed by Guy Ritchie and has taken in $26.6 million domestically to date.

The last of the weekend’s new releases, action comedy American Ultra took a disappointing $5.5 million to take sixth place. The film stars Jesse Eisenberg as a stoner who discovers he's a sleeper CIA assassin, opposite Kristen Stewart.
