The Skyscraper singer took part in the stunt for British radio station BBC Radio 1, stepping behind the wheel of a car to pick up three teenage girls and drive them home.

Speaking before the ride, Demi admitted she felt nervous because she had never driven in the U.K. before.

"Apparently (I'm) good enough," she explained. "I've never driven in the U.K. on the opposite side of the road..."

As the kids got into the car at the school gates, she exclaimed, "Hey guys! How are you? I'm driving you guys, is that ok?... So kids, what did we learn at school today?"

When one of the girls told Demi they had a class which involved learning about "inherited genes", the baffled singer replied, "Like hand-me-down clothing?"

The youngsters also aimed a number of questions at the pop star, including one about how she passed her test, prompting her to confess she traded an autograph for a driving licence.

"It's a little messed up but when I got my licence I only had to do the writing test. They didn't make me get in the car, I just signed an autograph. And I was having it. I was like 'OK, I promise I'm a good driver.'"
